What features are available in the Hyundai Venue?
Hyundai has upped the ante of the sub-four metre SUV segment by introducing the Venue with segment-first ADAS hardware. Part of the advanced driver’s aids are forward collision warning and avoidance assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, lane following assist, high beam assist, and leading vehicle departure alert.
You now also get the 1.0-litre petrol engine with a six-speed manual. Earlier, it was only offered with a DCT. Before this update, the Venue received additional equipment like three-point seat belts for all seats and a reclining function for rear seats with a 60:40 split. Plus, all passengers in the second row got adjustable headrests.
The Venue is one of the most feature-rich offerings in the segment with idle start/stop technology, four airbags as standard from the S(O) variant, new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels restricted only on the top SX(O) variant, and curtain and side airbags as standard from the S(O) trim onwards. Features like reclining rear seats, rear seat armrests, and cup holders have been axed from the SX diesel trim.
What are the engine, performance, and specifications of the Hyundai Venue?
With the Hyundai Venue, you get three engine options. The 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine puts out 82bhp and 114Nm and is available with a five-speed manual as the sole gearbox choice. There’s also a diesel unit, which is a 1.5-litre CRDi making 113bhp and 250Nm. However, there’s no automatic choice for the diesel either but you get a six-speed manual. Lastly, the Venue Turbo has a 1.0-litre TGDi three-cylinder producing 118bhp and 172Nm and it is available either with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT).
Is the Hyundai Venue a safe car?
With the last update, the Venue now offers four airbags (dual front along with curtain and side airbags) as standard from the S(O) variant. The Hyundai Venue is yet to be tested by NCAP.
What are the rivals to the Hyundai Venue?
In terms of rivals, the Hyundai Venue goes up against the likes of the newly-updated Tata Nexon, along with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite in the sub-four metre SUV segment.
